How To Flush Your Car Radiator

A radiator in your vehicle is essential and how to flush your car radiator is very important.

How do I flush the radiator?

Simple, firstly the radiator should be flushed every two years or 100 000km. Vehicles differ, so please check your owner’s manual.

What are the signs of a grumpy radiator?

  • Steam escaping from the bonnet while the car is in motion
  • Knocking sounds from the engine
  • A visible leak from under the car
  • Engine overheating

The engine must be cool. Drain the radiator and then inspect it for leaks. Check the hoses and clamps. Use a funnel, pour the radiator flush product into the radiator. Turn on the engine and run it for 5 minutes. Turn the engine off and let it cool down. Remove the radiator cap and drain plug and allow fluid to drain. Fill the radiator with a new coolant.  Now you need to bleed the radiator by running the engine for 15minutes.  Turn the engine off and top up the radiator with coolant and fill the water bottle with water. Replace the caps.

Corrosive sludge builds up if the radiator is not changed in time. You can damage the vehicle engine.
