- You need a socket wrench, funnel, and an old bucket to collect the old oil.
- You always need a few clean pieces of cloth
- A new sump washer
Prepare your car for this oil change
Park your car on a flat surface. Run the engine for a few minutes. When the old oil is warm, it becomes easier to drain. Now, locate the sump plug underneath the car and place the container directly under it. The sump plug is a bolt at the base of the sump pan. All you do is unscrew it and let the oil drain out.
Drain your oil
Loosen the plug and quickly remove it.
Replace your oil filter
Remove the old oil filter and the old oil gasket.
When the sump is drained remove the collected oil and replace the sump plug and sump washer
Add fresh oil
Use the funnel and pour the clean oil into it. Start the car and let it run for a few seconds. Allow the oil to settle. Use the dipstick to check the oil level.
